Lawyer-Retired www.polsinelli.com Committed Relationship Two Three Two B.A. Yale '67 then J.D. Univ of Mich, Ann Arbor, 1970. Married Vicki Passer, SWHS '64 in Dec 1965. Daughter Terri arrived in '69 and son Scott in '72.

Drafted 1968, but one look at Xray of spinal cord & I was sent back to law school rather than Viet Nam.

Vicki & I graduated U of M same day with her BS and my JD, with Terri between us. Vicki & I divorced in 1985. Second marriage lasted from 1989 to 2009, also ending in divorce.

Returned to KC to practice law. Active in business law (taxes & securities & other stuff most find boring) in KC from 1970 to Jan 6, 2006 when I broke my neck (attributable to the same bad spinal cord that kept me out of Viet Nam) and took involuntary disability retirement.

After 2+ years of therapy, now walking fairly well with two canes. Found a great gal, Carol Frana, who loves bridge, understands disability, and we get along great. Doing a lot of traveling, almost all by car, and playing bridge in a lot of places ranging from local clubs to national tournaments.

Most memories are good. Quality teachers like Guyer, Anderson, Shipley, Gustafson & lots of others. Good friends, many of whom remain in contact. All the Clubs covering any topic of interest.

The emotional pain of being a teenager is, simply, the pits. We all suffered through it, and I doubt my anxiety was any worse than anyone else's.

Lawyer goodwingoodwin.com Married 2 6 1 After graduating from Southwest High School, I returned to my native state West Virginia and graduated from West Virginia University in 1966 with a degree in Political Science. I then attended and graduated from WVU Law School in 1969 where I was fortunate enough to be first in my class. During Law School, I married Kathryn Sneddon. After Law School, we both did a placement at Harvard University where she did work to complete her PhD in Psychology and I earned an LLM from Harvard Law School.

In June of 1970, after graduating from Harvard we returned to the small community where I spent my youth (Ripley, WV) and opened a law office with my older brother Joe Bob. My younger brother, Steve, soon joined us in the practice of law. In addition to the Ripley office, we opened an office in Charleston, WV. In January, 1977 I was appointed State Tax Commissioner by newly elected Governor Jay Rockefeller. After a few months, Governor Rockefeller moved me from the tax department to the Governor's office to be his Chief of Staff. I served in that capacity through his re-election and then returned to my law firm to continue my law career. After that, our firm grew rapidly and we now have 25 lawyers. My older brother is the Chief Federal District Judge in the Southern District of West Virginia and sadly my younger brother passed away this past year.

In the mid 70s, my wife and I purchased a farm for weekend get-aways. Soon the farm became our total passion and we built a home there and raised our two daughters, Carrie and Emily. We still enjoy everything about the farm life including organic gardening, raising organic beef for our friends and family, and generally planting fruit trees and other plants that we enjoy cultivating. My oldest daughter is married and is a lawyer in our firm. She has three wonderful boys, ages 12 to 6. My daughter Emily is married and she too has three children. Her oldest son is age 4 1/2 and she has identical twin girls named Vivian Lessie and Beatrice Marie. The twins have vibrant red curly hair and beautiful blue eyes. Carrie's boys are all great athletes and participate in every sport from baseball to Lacrosse. Weekends at the farm with all the grandchildren are what we enjoy most.

Life has been very good to me and we look forward to every single day.
As to my best and worst memories at Southwest, I only have fond memories of the one year I spent there playing football with Greg Curtis and Craig Lewis. Playing basketball with Tom McCaffery and Bart Strother rounded out my winter at Southwest. Running the hurdles under the guidance of Coach Ewing was my favorite sport experience.

I am still practicing law fulltime and maintain a very active lifestyle playing tennis and golf and using swimming as my preferred aerobic exercise. Nearly 25 years ago I built a large pool at my farm which now continues to be the center of attention for weekend cookouts and games with the grandchildren.

Worst: When my Mom told the school, "Didn't you know it was Senior Ditch Day?"
Eighth hours in every class.
