CPA - retired Married 3 1 2 Went on to Mizzou and graduated w/BSBA in '66 and MA in Accountancy in '68, interrupted by 4 mos. in the USAF Res.

Began my accounting career out of Mizzou with Peat, Marwick, Mitchell & Co., CPAs (now KPMG LLP) in its Kansas City office in Feb.'68 and spent almost 21 years there leaving as a Partner in the Tax Department in Dec. 1988. I finished my six-year USAF Res commitment in April 1973, luckily never called to active duty, though very close two times.

My wife of 17+ years, Karen (nee Henricks; Bishop Miege HS '64), died in Dec. '86 after a very sudden and brief illness, sadly leaving me and our son, Bryant, then 6 years old. The following summer I ran into Ralone Clagett (nee Hodge, whom I dated for a couple of years at SWHS) at our 25th reunion, in late summer '87.
Remember that one? We saw each other at the 10th reunion in '72, but hadn't run into each other since that time.

Ralone & I married the following October. With her two children, Sarah & John Clagett, and my son, Bryant, we now made a family of five.

Career changed and we moved to Orlando, Fla. where I was the VP of Taxes for Harcourt, Brace, Jovanovich, Inc., publishers (principally educational textbooks), until the company was sold; then moved on to the Orlando office of BDO Seidman, LLP (CPAs) as a Tax Partner again; then took a transfer with BDO to Memphis; then changed firms and made another move to New Jersey as Tax Department officer-in-charge with a regional firm there, Amper, Politziner, and Mattia, CPAs.

So, I practiced public accounting as an audit guy for about 4 years; then as a tax Manager/Partner/Officer from 1972-2007, with a brief stint in private industry. We've lived in Missouri, Kansas (Overland Park), Florida, Tennessee, New Jersey, and now we're back in Florida. I've been a practicing CPA in Missouri, Kansas, Florida, Tennessee, Mississippi, and New Jersey - that's enough moves and enough states for me.

I retired from Amper in May 2007 and Ralone & I relocated back to Lakeland, Florida, approximately halfway between Tampa and Orlando, on I-4. Easy access to two good airports and easy to get to the Gulf - with good weather and many nice golf courses.

Our kids: Sarah Johnson, nee Clagett, lives in NYC, upper West Side, with husband Walt and new baby, Henry, 4-mos. old at this date (6-27). She's a Producer for the Today Show, but presently on maternity leave. John Clagett is with the California Park
Service at a couple of parks in the L.A. area. Bryant Green is a video game Producer with SquareEnix in the L.A. area, and just recently moved there from San Francisco. John & Bryant are also Mizzou grads; Sarah's a KU grad. We're as proud of all three as we can be.

Now looking forward to Mizzou in the SEC and seeing our kids continue with their careers. Our first grandson, Henry, will be lots of fun in the years to come, too.

Looking forward to seeing all this coming October. Ralone's & my 25th Anniversary will follow the Reunion by about 10 days.
Best: Spanish classes with Mrs. Norris' class. She was years ahead with her teaching methodology and I can still speak some Spanish - don't we all, now?; and Am. History with Mrs. Geyer - she showed us what a college level course would be. Our English classes for all four years were almost equivalent to their college level counterparts, too.

Worst: End of our freshman year when the K.C. School District banned our social fraternities and sororities for what overriding reason, I still don't understand! I don't think that would happen today.

Began working at Adventist Health System and worked my way up to management level and benefits. Pretty good for a Jewish girl in an Adventist environment. Leadership roles in community and professional organizations. After retirement in 1997 began spending 1/2 of the year at our home in western NC where we live in a sort of tree house in the woods, and garden, hike, canoe and white water raft.We travel to see all of those grandchildren as well as to Europe, S. America and Israel. Love yoga, classical music and the cello. 55 years after my 13th birthday I will become a Bat Mitzvah. Still love Bob Seger and that old time Rock 'n Roll. Best times were acting in plays with Mr. Western's drama class.

Worst time was my senior year when I ranked 82nd in class and National Honor Society took up to 80. My mom made me go to school. In Latin IV, there were 14 students. 12 of them were dressed for the NHS ceremony. Another student and I were not. HUMILIATING!

QUESTION: I am cleaning drawers to prepare to go to NC for the summer (where I will get together with Lyn VanOsdol) and found these little pins Am I the only one who still has them? A Delta Alpha Gamma fraternity pin, a Thespian pin (Mr. Western), A Quill and Scroll pin, and a SW High school Annual Library Award -- what was THAT for?????

Better still -- why do I still have them??
