Attorney www.gjel.com Married 1 2 BA, Washington U. (St. Louis)
JD, Stanford University (roomed first year with John Rollins, who was then in graduate business school).
After a brief stint with Atlanta Legal Aid and San Mateo County (CA) Legal Aid, I started a law firm with a friend. I've worked there my whole life, and it's still around: Gillin, Jacobson, Ellis,, Larsen & Lucey in Orinda, CA. I have practiced primarily personal injury law, but also in some other areas including patent litigation (represented Atari suing Sega in the 90s). I have enjoyed practicing with good friends -- including the same original partner -- since 1972! Still practicing, but part time now.
Short marriage to a very nice person in the late 70s; then married in 1988 to my wife, Christy, a visual skills specialist who works for a local foundation. We have a son, Daniel, who is graduating June, 2012, from Stanford. I brainwashed him tailgating with friends at Stanford football games (and watching Stanford basketball) from the age of 3, so he was destined to be there. Somehow I still angst over the Royals and, less so, over the Chiefs. I have one nephew with a wife and kids in KC, so I get back occasionally. Have been a jogger since 1977; and enjoy bike trips: we've done them in France, Czech Republic, Quebec, and Maine.
Good friends, nice people. A good education: but for senior English, I probably wouldn't have had a career.
Maybe worst memory is when some unknown critter was somehow getting into my sack lunch on the top shelf in my locker, and eating parts of it, one year. I don't really understand to this day how that could happen.

Married 2 2 1 I graduated from University of Missouri with a Bachelor of Journalism degree. During the summers that I was a MU, I worked as an announcer and director at KMBC-TV. After graduation, they offered me a full-time job as a director. After a year at that job, I landed an entry level job at ABC Sports in New York. I worked for that network for the next 41 years, directing sports and some news broadcasts. My concentration was on golf and college football, but I also did the Summer and Winter Olympics, Monday Night Football, and a variety of events for ABC's Wide World of Sports. It was an exciting job with great rewards. I married Jacque in 1970. I met her at ABC where she worked as what we then called a "secretary". We had two great daughters and lived in a suburb of New York City. Our oldest daughter, Heather, got her BA from Duke and her PhD from Rutgers. She is married and gave us our beautiful grandson, Rowan, who is now three. Brooke, is getting married next Spring, lives in San Rafael, CA, and works in the wine industry. I am retired, but still directing a few programs, mostly golf, for a variety of broadcast companies. Sorry I will not be able to attend the reunion, but I hope everyone has a great time. Mostly good ones, but flunking US History was the low moment. 2014-12-08 16:54:38

Creative Writer, Hallmark (ret '06) Married 2 6 (+7 more counting Jerry's) 2 Like I can remember! Seems I went to Stephens College and William Jewell. Worked in advertising, public relations, arts education. Married '67, divorced '86, remarried '95. Raised two boys, one hermit crab, three rabbits, 25 Golden Retriever puppies. Wrote/sold song lyrics, acted with Barn Players, sang with Starlight Chorus. Did the PTA-soccer-mom-church-lady thing and recovered. Spent 18 years in writing/product innovation at Hallmark. Saw wild chimps in Sumatra, glaciers in Alaska, swam with dolphins in Mexico. Now I volunteer for Immune Deficiency Foundation, making lobbying trips to DC and doing peer-support counseling in KC. Enjoy book club and time at our lakeside log cabin. Do some freelance editing/writing, including personalized poems for special occasions. Am a fan of grandchildren, (St Louis, Mill Valley & Denver) live theatre and music, Mother Nature, dogs, Tai Chi, audio books, swing dancing, NPR, and Crane Beach, Barbados. Yikes, this sounds like a singles ad... or an obituary.

Best Memories: Concert Choir, (Sandy Logan playing ukulele at Loose Park) Redskin Revels, Thespians, operetta rehearsals/performances and Lit Club contests.

Worst Memories: algebra

A few current favorites...
Bumper sticker: "Too informed to vote Republican"
2011 movie: "Midnight in Paris"
Quote: "Instant gratification takes too long."
Books: The Elegance of the Hedgehog, The Poet of Tolstoy Park
